February’s Update
1 & 2
I made a Treacle Tart from Mary Berry’s recipes, however it did not taste as goo as one my friend, Katie, made last year. Unfortunately the Lemon Tart was eaten before it could be photographed; it was from the Master Chef book.

I planted Strawberry plants, though I have only one has shown any sign of life so far. I have also planted some Chilli’s so hopefully they will grow and I will take some pictures soon. But my career as a gardener is not looking too promising.
4 & 5
I have started reading Isaiah along with some friends so hopefully they will help me keep that up. AndI have been going to the gym 2/3 times a week doing my weights program that got made up for me and I am going to my first Pilates class tonight.

I have learned this week that no matter how relaxed I think I am, I like to be in control. This is not helpful when I am trying to plan a wedding and buy a house. All with my Darling Fiancée and my parents help, amongst others.
I am scared to talk about my plans and ideas with others because I am scared of opening myself up to criticism (which is my excuse). However there is also truth in the fact I do not want to talk about the plans and ideas because I do not want other people’s input, I do not want to have to comprise my ideas for others’.
This I am working on.
Resolution 1
Remember the meal I put on for my friends for my pre 2013 list? Well It was actually in 2013 and I used a Master Chef recipe, so like it or not it counts as my January offering. I made a fish pie from scratch, it may have taken me hours to get it to the table but the cheesy potato topping was worth it alone.
2013 Resolution No: 5
It is really vague. I knew I couldn’t commit to too much. That is how targets are not reached, that is where failure occurs. So vague it shall stay for now. The first thing I did to improve myself in some way was to read. One if my resolutions a few years ago was to try and read the top 21 of BBC’s Big Read. It was a bit ambitious for someone who doesn’t normally read much and when I went back to university in September it all fell apart…Never mind the fact that Les Mis and War and Peace is on the list.
So this new year I bought Rebecca and Birdsong; which I was yet to read. During a very slow week at work I read Birdsong in just five days. Oh my days I was engrossed in it. I was so involved. I could not put it down…even when driving in traffic. I had seen the BBC adaptation last year so knew what was coming knew it wasn’t all that happy, so I found myself at points anxious about reading on because I knew the heartache that was to follow that decision. But I could not quite remember the end and the adaptation did not have the flash forwards the book included so I got my hopes up for a lovely happy ending that the love of these characters demanded.
OH MY DAYS! Was I disappointed?! The worst ending to a book EVER! How could he do that do me? Sebastian How could you do that? Not only did I not get my ending he told me it in such a nonchalant ‘and this happened’ kind of way. Not happy Seb, not happy.
Overall great book. Do read it.
Next on the List is Rebecca, but I have found myself to distraught and involved in Birdsong I have found myself unable to start a new story, a new life. So for now I rest.
1. I received a Master Chef Kitchen Bible for Christmas so I will make one recipe every month of 2013, to improve my cooking skills.
2. Mary Berry’s Baking Bible was another present I received this year and there are far too many delicious looking bakes in there so I am going to attempt 2 a month in 2013, to improve my baking skills.
3. I loved making my cupcake ornament; so to improve my skills every month I am to do something craft, make something, sew something, knit something, paint something, create something. One project every month of 2013.
4. To improve and deepen my faith I am to read the Bible everyday and pray.
5. Improve myself, read books, go to the gym, learn something new, go somewhere new.
